“Sapaitai Restaurant” finds its home in Gaysorn Amarin, a shopping mall steeped in history, originally constructed in 1485. Designed by the legendary
architect “Rangsan Torsuwan”, the building elegantly combines Greek and Roman architectural influences with expansive glass panels, setting a
benchmark in Thai architectural design of its time. In 2024, the structure underwent a thoughtful renovation to embrace contemporary aesthetics while
preserving its timeless heritage. The core philosophy of this restoration revolves around safeguarding its legacy for generations to come.
This ethos aligns seamlessly with the story of “Sapaitai Restaurant”, which cherishes family recipes handed down through generations. These culinary
treasures, rooted in the tin-mining era of Phang Nga province, have been carefully modernized and brought to life in the heart of Bangkok.
The designers drew inspiration from this idea when conceptualizing the restaurant's interior, incorporating elements, styles, and the ambiance of the tin
mining heritage a hallmark of the "Nai Hua" family business with its unique blend of Chinese and Western cultures.
The design features include a front beverage counter styled with metal panels adorned with bolts and screws, lighting fixtures framed in iron structures
with incandescent bulbs evoking the mining era, wooden wall and floor patterns, and furniture reflecting Chinese cultural aesthetics. The use of vibrant
blue and red colors of the original logo captures the bold flavors of the cuisine. An artistic depiction of the "Ton Thepparo" tree, Phang Nga's provincial
tree, is displayed on the wall, contrasting with a charcoal kiln illustration shaped like the southern region of Thailand. This symbolizes pride in the rich
flavors, recipes, and heritage of Phang Nga and the family's legacy, allowing the public to savor the unique culinary tradition of the “Sapaitai Restaurant”
