This house is located in an old village over 30 years old, in a suburb of Bangkok. The village layout is unique, featuring a central garden with a swimming
pool surrounded by large trees a rare find in modern developments. This house, a two story structure with a mezzanine, was renovated after being
abandoned for more than 10 years.

Originally, the first floor included one parking space, a maid’s room, a bathroom, a living room, and a backyard. The second floor housed the dining room
and kitchen, while the third floor had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The designer transformed the entire layout and appearance of the house, including
a complete reinstallation of the mechanical systems.

On the first floor, the interior was reconfigured and expanded to accommodate a small car park. The maid’s room was replaced by a kitchen, and the living
and dining rooms were combined into one larger space. The backyard was converted into a terrace with a gym room, both offering views of the village’s
central garden. The fence was redesigned as a vertical garden, providing privacy and screening out unattractive views while preserving a green outlook.

The mezzanine was repurposed as a workspace and reading room with views of the trees. On the third floor, an additional bedroom and a Buddha room
were added within the limited space. Each bedroom, though compact, is designed for comfortable sleeping. To enhance the small rooms, maximum sized
windows were installed to frame views of the surrounding trees. One challenge of this townhouse was its dim, dark central area. The designer addressed this
by installing transparent skylights, allowing natural light to brighten and open up the space.
